Johanna Robinson is a mom, storyteller, artist, and lifelong maker of things. She lives in California with her entrepreneur husband, their identical twin daughters, and a grey tabby cat with a pink nose. She also has two adult children.
She is the author and illustrator of the 2026 picture book P&V and the Ice Pop Bath which funded over 800% on Kickstarter, the illustrator of Lesley Downie’s 2026 middle grade novel Kat and the Totally Twisty Tunnels Time Forgot, and the co-author with Dr. Shari Williams of the U.S. Colored Troops play When Freedom Came which was performed at the 2023 Old Federal Road Storytelling Festival.

From leading the team that built the engine behind one of the best-selling video games of all time, to building her own character designs into a globally distributed brand, to serving as COO of the AR/VR startup that won Meta’s competition with a Jimi Hendrix storytelling experience, Johanna has spent her career turning ambitious ideas into real things.
She’s passionate about mentoring and actively supports the creative and startup ecosystems throughout Southern California. She serves on the board for The Ridge non-profit which organizes an annual storytelling festival, and on the leadership team for the Temecula Valley Writers and Illustrators non-profit which provides education, community, and resources for creators.
